My first business trip at Global One was to Basingstoke, England for one week in November. Basingstoke is about a 45 minute train ride south of London. For four days, I taught a course on how to use Global One's new Trouble Ticket software to employee students from all over Europe, including England, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy. Fortunately, all spoke English, which is the language used by all Global One Employees regardless of where they are located. We had three other training teams teaching this course at the same time in Sydney, Australia, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Paris, France, and Reston, Virginia.

Considering this was my first time teaching a course on using a software application, which at this time is not yet fully functional, the training went quite well. And the fringe benefit of visiting the London area was definitely was a wonderful opportunity. I had a lot of fun exploring the sites in London, eating at the restaurants and Pubs in Basingstoke, and shopping in the local mall right outside the Red Lion Hotel, a 16th century carriage hotel (updated with modern conveniences). I was lucky that there were only two days of rain during my trip. The worst was a driving rain storm that first Saturday, which destroyed my umbrella and got be soaked until I found respite in the huge Tate Modern art museum, a fascinating place with lots of bizarre impressionistic art. During my trip, I shot five rolls of film. I picked out some of my favorites below. Cheers!
