Diane and I decided to get away from civilization last Saturday and went for a hike in the Shenandoah National Park at Matthew's Arm on Skyline Drive. Here are a few of my nature pictures I took during our 6 mile hike to a water fall, which is just a trickle this time of year, but was definitely worth the walk.

Yellow and purple flowers blooming along Skyline Drive.

Here's a closer look at the yellow flowers, which I think are called Susan something. I need to get a wild flower book so I know what I am shooting.

Diane noticed these bumpy mushroom hiding under a rock next to the trail.

A bouquet of dainty daisy-like flowers.

Diane putting her shoes back on after cooling her toes in the stream.

The side lighting accentuated the texture of this tree bark making for an interesting abstract photo.
